Embellism is not anti-human. It is deeply humanist, but in the Renaissance sense: it restores human dignity by seeing people as capable of greatness. It refuses to reduce them to their fragilities or their determinisms. It sees in them a potential creator, not a victim to be protected.
This reinvention of humanism is radical. It rejects the glorification of weakness, the moralising of emotions and the cult of a fixed self. It restores will, discipline, beauty and effort as the drivers of human achievement.
